This is tough because there are so many I like. I don’t watch the show, have only read the books so I don’t know how much difference there is between them.
I really, really loved Robb. He was an amazing leader, an amazing soldier. His fatal mistake was trusting that tradition would never be broken even after a broken vow. Following his (very young) heart led to his downfall. The Red Wedding infuriated and destroyed me. I want Walder Frey to pay, but, as of my last reading, he hadn’t. Bah.
I also, and almost to the same degree, love Arya. What a tough, smart, freakin’ wily girl. She learned her lessons well and she learned the ones she wanted to learn. Survival skills as good, but different than those her sister eventually cottoned on to. I want her to come back and take her revenge on those who destroyed her family. I want her and Sansa to reunite with their brothers (all of them)and make the Starks of Winterfell a clan to be reckoned with again.

Date: 2014-12-03 06:56 am (UTC)Re: difference with the show. The main difference I can think of about those characters is that Robb is older in the show - and freaking hot. *g* So, it's an ever more valid choice. :D Also, his wife was replaced by an OFC named Talisa, who still maintained the same function of angering Walder Fray so all in all a valid adaptation...
Also, may I ask if you not watching the show is a deliberate choice? LOL lord knows I've been so annoyed with it since I completed my reading of the books, paradoxically I enjoyed the show more when my book canon knowledge was still minimal. ;)

Date: 2014-12-04 01:45 am (UTC)Well, I don't have HBO so I never really started watching it and my netflix queue is about a million things long. Also, I'm rarely happy with adaptations of things I've read. If I hadn't read the books I might be more apt to give it a look.
