Little brother driving big brother’s car- twice seeking revenge; once seeking escape.
After the Trickster, after the hell hounds, after Dick fucking Roman explodes, Dean’s gone in body and spirit. Nothing remains to linger within his baby’s solid steel framework. Still, Sam sees his brother’s shadow in the flickering streetlamps, hears his rasp in the growl of the engine. The Impala was Dean’s like she’d been their father’s before him and thrice she’s come to Sam- the last Winchester standing.
Mary, John, Dean, Sam- the Impala is haunted. Not with actual spirits, maybe, but filled with ghosts all the same.
